For this project, I designed a pavilion to display works from the Fabric Museum and Workshop. My primary goal with this space was to create a playful environment that invited the viewer to interact with the art. I incorporated undulating and interweaving levels and surfaces to create a dynamic sensation in which the viewer can become a part of the artwork.
This project was inspired by my "Motion Study" project. In the Motion Study project, I used RHINO to translate a series of three dimensional movements into a physical model of woven colors representing my limbs. The ability to capture movement in a static display inspired my approach to the City in Motion design. The Interwoven elements of the City in Motion design lead the visitor to explore each piece of art and the surrounding space, prompting an interaction between visitors, the art, and the built environment.
