For this project, I designed a multi-use pavilion that functions as both a gallery and community gathering space. My primary goal with this pavilion was to create a space that not only integrated the structure and the pieces with the environment but also invited the viewer to interact with the space in a playful way. I designed a series of undulating and interweaving levels and surfaces to create a dynamic environment in which the viewer interacts with and almost becomes a part of the artwork.

For this project, I mapped and analyzed the motion of a back walkover, noting key aspects of the movement and how the body shaped itself through it.

For this West Philadelphia Tool Library Revamp Project, I combined a bold initial design with a preservation of the existing building to achieve the client's goals while honoring their role in the community.

This project focuses on studying and representing the threshold conditions of this space. I focused on the shift in activity and light across this threshold.

In my exploration of the mini disco ball’s architectural influence, I present two compelling models. The first meticulously arranges faceted tiles, creating a dynamic interplay of light and shadow, while the second, an inverted version, manipulates acrylic to transform ambient light, offering varying perspectives and distorting the visual landscape. These designs showcase the disco ball’s potential to redefine spatial dynamics and elevate the sensory experience within architectural environments.

This project was my first architecture project in my first architecture class. Primarily, this project features my design ideas while I was learning how to use software and create drawings and perspectives.

This carrel design is inspired by the unique lines and shapes featured in the existing nanotech setting. Branching out from the existing setting, “Studying With a Twist” features uniquely shaped study carrels that harmoniously contrast with the orderly and organized nature of the surrounding building its pre-existing study spaces, creating an environment that fosters creativity and thinking outside of the box in a fun and functional space.
